Port of Portland Seaport Celebration

Looking for something fun and educational to do with the whole family? Well you may want to check out the 2015 Port of Portland Seaport Celebration on Saturday August 15, 2015 at the Port of Portland Terminal 4.

This is a fantastic event geared towards family friendly fun events to educate the public about the activities and functions of Portland, Oregon's marine terminals. There is a whole list of activities to participate in on August 15th from 10am to 4pm. There is everything from music to jet boat rides (for a small fee.) The best part is, it is free to attend! They are also bringing in some great food carts for you to choose from in case you get hungry while exploring.

The marine terminals are one of the Pacific Northwest's economic lifelines for trade internationally. These ports create a source for both import of foreign goods but an even wider economic benefit to the region, an efficient export source for agricultural goods.  The region depends on these services to get their goods around the world as efficiently as possible which provides great economic support to the regions farmers and growers.

The Port of Portland has been very active in its efforts with public outreach and its commitment to sustainable practices. Not only is their headquarters a LEED Platinum building, they perform a necessary function in our community, but make every effort to be good stewards of the environment. This commitment spills over all their functions from their headquarters to their airports and marine terminals.

If you decide to take your family, or just yourself to explore the Seaport Celebration, you may be one of the lucky ones to perhaps visit with some of the Port of Portland personnel and perhaps come home with one of your very own Tree In A Box. You can then do your part in helping keep the native tree population strong for generations to come!
